Indian Motorcycle has been busy over the past couple of years. Many new features means, new error codes (SPN and FMI). This is the most comprehensive diagnostic error codes available in December 2018.

Although we all hope that we will never see an error code, if they did appear on your dash, at least you can work out what it means.

Cheers and ride safe!

Great information that will help a lot of guys thanks for sharing this.
Cheers

      Thanks V-Twin.
I contacted Dynojet recently and was told they wont have a PV3 for the Challenger until June or July.

Hi all, have a query regarding error codes.

Yesterday I attended the new shop at Penrith to attend to my gear position sensor recall. All done.
The shop looks good with plenty of stock and even a Challenger.

To the point at hand about a week ago I started getting error codes
        1. 523 Gear position sensor.
        2. 524080. Cruise control
        3. 520329.Operator switch.
Now I can understand the Gear position switch, but not the others.
The tech at the shop seem to think they talk to each other????
        Switch replaced and code cleared.
        However after leaving they returned.
I must add one of these code was causing what I think is a hard code as dash lit up and lights went out, indicators include. also red oil light.
That settled down and only check engine light remained , I cleared all codes on return to base.

I figure the codes were not effectively remove at the shop? I removed them with my PVCX.
They commented that the tuner maybe conflicting with ECM??
Some initial googling hint my battery made be on the way out.I put my C Tek on last night and took a bit to get to the 1st 3 lights .

Any one out there witnessed this before.

After a couple years of riding my 2020 Springfield, I had my first "CHK ENG" fault: "0 105 18". After stopping, recording the error code and turning the bike off, I haven't seen it since. The error code description is "Intake Air Temperature Sensor", anybody ever have an issue with this or is it one of those ghost faults that rarely to never comes back?

Thank you for the PDF. I recently got an error code on my 2022 Scout that doesn't appear in the PDF: 516125/2

Does anybody know how to read this, or has anyone seen it before?

Not sure if scout codes are the same as TS111 codes, but that code just looks to big, I wonder if its 516 and 125/2, I think the /2 is its come up twice or is it /2 for 2 codes.

For motorcycles that are push-rod based, there are a lot of sensors and computer algorithm monitoring every second. If the error only appeared once, I wouldn't worry about it. If I had to guess, there is a table inside the Bosch ECU that expected the air temp to be at a particular range, but for a moment, it registered outside the norm, or the sensor had a glitch and throw the error code. As you said, a ghost fault.

Let's be kind to one another.

Thanks for sharing the table, really helpful to get prepared for potential issues!
Btw, there's also an android app out there called "Indian Diagnostics" where you just enter the SPN and FMI and it will show you the error description.
Easy to find on internet but unfortunately, not available for Apple devices.

Thanks for adding the chart it has expanded on a problem I had.

Just got back home from my RMgoing into limp mode with a #520284 P152E code and being a Throttle body Control fauly.

I disconnected battery and removed air filter to get better access on side of the road to the sensors. Found nothing wrong and very difficult because motor was very hot. put back together and started it to have the same limp mode and fault showing. Turned power off for a few minutes and motor ran well. Have got back home with the motor now running well. This is dawnting as never found the fault. Has anyone else had this issue

We are here for a good time not a long time, so ride until you can not no more

I changed my bars and cat delete and mufflers..

                          Took for a 150km ride..

                          Now getting engine light

With two codes related to front and rear misfire 🤷‍♂️

Is there a way to clear codes via the screen... or does a dealer need to hook up to the bike to clear it... ?

                          Cheers

I recently changed out the stock exhaust and air filter for an S&S to a 2:1 Grand national, and a stealth 2 air cleaner. I had to remove the battery and box to free up some more wire on the O2 sensor. My speedo has stopped working and I have had an engine fault code come up regarding the Vehicle speed signal and I’m hoping for some guidance about either resetting or inspecting.

Anybody had this error code before? 2023 Indian Chief: PO302 - Cylinder 2 misfire underneath that "misfire, then another PO363 - Cylinder Misfire and underneath that "condition exists. While riding up a hill the engine derated and the "check engine" symbol came on in orange and has not gone away. I stopped and turned everything off and restarted the bike but it was still there. The above error codes I found after looking in the manual to see what had happened, both codes have in the heading "correction" which is under the above error codes, "contact your dealer". It's the weekend and I will have to wait till Monday to contact them, hopefully somebody will be able to help, thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply, yeah it has had a tune but that was a few months ago. I am in Queensland, Sunny Coast area. From a few posts I have read in various forums, it seems as though the ECU on these bikes are a little sensitive and if it does not sense the right revs for the gearing, it then has a hissy fit. I did the the exact same hill but changed down before the revs dropped and it did not show up this time????, Hopefully that was all it is. I have contacted the dealer and they will be putting a machine onto it to see if there is anything else that may be an issue, when I get the chance to go into Brisbane area.

You mentioned that you had a tune. If your dealer hooks up their Digital Wrench diagnostics to your bike, I would worry that it will over write your custom tune.

Hey KASH61, I haven't had it tuned yet but the error code and warning light went away in the following days after a couple of longer rides. I am still going to see if it needs a tune anyway, Im in the Hunter Valley so there are a few options of places to go.

                                                Thanks
