Update

Yes, this dressing can be purchased at many stores such as Wal-Mart, Sam’s, and other grocery stores. Why would you want to make this from scratch? This recipe still has fewer preservatives, and you can always tweak a recipe when you make it from scratch.

So you can add a little more sugar, or maybe you want to add a few more spices. I know their bottle does not say it has mayonnaise on it. It does say oil and eggs, and when you beat those two together you get an emulsion that looks a lot like mayonnaise.

The vinegar was a bit strong. I would do a 1/4 next time. The spice blend was very good.

I’ve made this quite a few times over the years. Even with a few variations substituting the corn syrup for honey, using olive oil for vegetable oil, and fresh lemon, garlic and parsley. It WAS a hit at my dinner parties. I miss entertaining 🙁

Great recipe! Thank you so much! I did find it a bit sour, so the second time I made it with only 1/4 vinegar and it was perfect. I also made a few substitutions because I was missing some ingredients (replaced parsley with more Italian seasoning, replaced Romano cheese with more Parmesan, and used maple syrup instead of corn syrup).
